Wildcats defeat Seagulls

OAK HARBOR — Rachel Weinstein won the 100-meter freestyle (1:06.76), the 100 breaststroke (1:26.57) and was on the winning 200 and 400 free relay teams for the Wildcats, who won every event in their 140-37 victory over the Seagulls Wednesday.

KeriAnne Wright won the 200 free and was also on the winning 200 and 400 free relay teams for Oak Harbor.

Tori Nickerson won the 100 butterfly in 1:15.26 and was on the 200 individual medley, 200 and 400 free relay teams for Oak Harbor.

Volleyball

King’s 3, Coupeville 0: At Coupeville, King’s remained undefeated in Cascade Conference volleyball play, defeating Coupeville 25-10, 25-11, 25-8.

King’s (14-0 conference and overall) was led by Anna Cesari’s 29 assists and eight aces.

Megan Monroe had four aces and Nikki Griffin had four kills for Coupeville (2-12).

Boys tennis

Wesco 3A Doubles Tournament: At Mill Creek, Lynnwood’s Daniel Yuen and Zach Wieben defeated Arlington’s Will Morin and Max Heath 6-3, 6-2 to finish fifth and secure the Wesco’s No. 5 doubles seed into the district tournament which begins today in Mount Vernon. Heath and Morin will serve as the alternate team.

Wesco North tennis tournament: At Stanwood, top-seeded Chad Merkley of Snohomish defeated No. 2 seed Kyle Koetje of Stanwood 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 to claim the Wesco North singles championship on Tuesday. The win gives him the top-seed to the Wesco District tournament, which begins today.

The No.1 seeded duo of Reed Pecha and Zach Stockwell, of Snohomish, defeated No. 3 seed Jason Schonberg and Jordan Beauchamp of Stanwood 6-2, 6-2 to claim the Wesco North doubles championship.
