Stanback to the Rescue

Isaiah Stanback is answering some critics so far. He looks much more dynamic and confident than he did last week. He’s been hurt by two drops, but he is showing why he is the best choice to be the UW quarterback. He’s the only player who makes that play on the touchdown, scrambling to avoid the rush, making Fresno worry about him running it in and then making an excellent pass to the end zone. This also looks like it could be a big game for Marcel Reece, who has looked very good so far. That was a really important drive for the Huskies, who can’t afford to fall far behind a team that can run it as well as Fresno. But the Huskies need better play from their receivers, and they need to get the running game going. We’ll see what Louis Rankin can do in the second quarter.
