Hot, Hot, Hot

It’s hot, really, really hot here in Tucson. When I got to the stadium, my car temperature said it was 99, but it was 105 earlier in the day. But by all accounts, the temp drops pretty substantially later, and the field is in the shade so I’d be surprised if the heat plays too much of a factor.

One funny note on my way to the stadium: In listening to the pre-game show, the announcers said the Arizona fans inadvertantly booed the Arizona team bus as it arrived at the stadium, thinking it was the Husky bus. Not sure that’s the start Arizona wanted.

Outside of that, no real personnel news. The Huskies were on the field earlier warming up but now they’re mostly in the locker room. Washington travelled all its quarterbacks, including Jake Locker and walk-on Felix Sweetman.

Part of my day today was spent watching Oregon thrash Arizona State. I was shocked at how terrible ASU looked. I picked the Sun Devils to finish second in the Pac-10, but they look absolutely awful, which is great news for Washington. With Oregon State also looking miserable today, the Huskies now look like they could be favored in three home games: ASU, Oregon State and Stanford. A win today and we could be talking about at least seven wins for this team. How ridiculous is that?

I’ll try to update the blog as much as possible today, but with deadline pressure tonight, the updates may not be as substantial as I usually try to make them. We’ll check back in later.
