Quite A Show

Washington has put on quite a performance to end the first half as Isaiah Stanback continues to play like an all-conference player. After missing on his first four passes, he’s completed 10 in a row for 244 yards, including three plays of at least 44 yards. He is just taking shot after shot down field and coming up big. Quintin Daniels has played well two games in a row and that would be a real lift to the offense. It will be interesting to see if Washington continues to go downfield or if it turns to its running game in the second half. Stanback is 10-for-14 and also has 29 yards on the ground. Sonny Shackelford has five catches for 105 yards.
The defense has been terrific, especially against the run, where it’s allowed 21 yards on 16 carries. They are really rushing Willie Tuitama and putting a lot of faith in the defensive backs. Expect more heat in the second half as Tuitama is going to have to sit back and put the ball in the air. The Huskies have also knocked down three passes.
It’s strange having Washington winning and not thinking it’s an amazing thing. The Huskies should be winning this game (maybe not by this much though). That’s been the biggest change to the team this year. This doesn’t feel like a fluke, it is just where the Huskies are. If they come out and play well again in the second half, they would be two wins away from a bowl game with three winnable games at home, and probably have a legit shot at being ranked.
