An interesting development on the last UW drive. Erik Berglund is at left tackle in place of Ben Ossai. To that point, all five starters had played every snap this season. A UW representative said it is “coaches decision.” Also, we’d been led to believe that Morgan Rosborough would be the first backup lineman to play. Ossai, the youngest starter on the line, has had some struggles this year so maybe that’s why.
Also, Juan Garcia’s snaps out of the shot gun have been terrible, and that was before he snapped away Washington’s shot on second down from the 3. That hasn’t been a problem this season. Maybe the middle of the Trojans defense is in his head, because that hasn’t been a problem all season.
Washington converted three third downs on the drive, all on passes by Stanback, who looks pretty good, not great. Washington is running the ball pretty well, though. But it can’t afford to give away chances like on that bad snap, because it’s not going to get a ton of chances.
