MUKILTEO — Kamiak’s depth proved too much for Shorecrest, as the Knights defeated the Scots 117-69 in a Wesco South swim meet on Thursday.

The Scots were without their best swimmer, Tyler Hayden. Kamiak coach Chris Erickson conceded that Hayden could have won any event he entered.

“They were missing a few kids to start with,” Erickson said.

Kamiak’s wins in the 200 medley relay and in the 200 freestyle relay both qualified the Knights for state, with times of 1:45.35 in the 200 medley relay and 1:31.88 in the 200 freestyle relay.
