Shoreline Christian loses in title game

PUYALLUP — Shoreline Christian kept pace with King’s West throughout much of their 2B Tri-district championship game Saturday and was plus-15 in turnovers. However, a 2-for-15 performance at the free-throw line hurt the Crusaders and led to a 52-41 King’s West victory.
“Free throws were huge,” Shoreline Christian coach Stan De Yager said, noting that his team made around 59 percent of its free throws for the season.
Angela Woods led Shoreline Christian with 13 points and Angela DeKoekkoek had 10 points and 12 rebounds, a notable feat for the 5-foot-9 forward since she was matched against 6-footers for most of the night, De Yager said.
