Prep roundup: Arlington slips by Mariner, 38-26

ARLINGTON — Arlington edged out Mariner 38-26 Thursday to earn a non-conference win at Arlington High School.

“It was one of those dual meets where I don’t think there were any upsets,” Arlington head coach Shaun Williams said.

Mariner won three of the first four matches before Arlington took four in a row, including a 14-2 major decision at 125 pounds.

“It was a point in the match that it could’ve gone either way,” Williams said. “(Our wrestler) showed a lot of character and got us back on the winning path.”

Craig Crawford had five 3-pointers and 18 points and Vince Kurtzenaker had 12 rebounds for Highland. Lummi scored nine straight points after halftime and outscored Highland 20-10 in the third quarter.
