MONROE — Marysville-Pilchuck produced some clutch hitting on Friday night, scoring all eleven of its runs after two outs had been recorded en route to an 11-2 Wesco North baseball victory over Monroe.
Marysville coach Kurt Koshelnik said Marysville had trouble getting to Monroe’s starter Alex Churlin, but jumped on some early pitches in the sixth inning and got some hits.
“We were really fortunate to have the game turn out the way it did,” Koshelnik said.
“He did a great job,” Koshelnik added of Churlin.
Steve Shane led the Marysville offensive charge, batting 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI. Brennan Steinbaugh threw a complete game for the Tomahawks, giving up seven hits and striking out three.
Ryan Moore was a bright spot for the Bearcats, batting 3-for-3 with a double.
