LYNNWOOD — With a 15-1 five-inning victory over Shorewood on Tuesday, Lynnwood moved into a first-place tie with the Thunderbirds atop the Wesco South baseball standings.
Shorewood took an early 1-0 lead when Bobby LeCount led off the game with a first-pitch home run. LeCount added a double later in the game.
“Bobby LeCount is a heck of a hitter,” Lynnwood coach Reggie Corns said.
Lynnwood did its damage in the second, third and fourth innings, led by Steve Llewellyn and Collin Samuelson, both of whom batted 3-for-3.
“We hit the ball well today,” Corns said.
Jason Lotzer pitched a complete game for Lynnwood, giving up just four hits and striking out five.
“I think both teams were surprised about the outcome being 15-1,” Corns said.
The teams meet again today at Shorewood.
