Prep girls basketball: Burlington-Edison 55, Archbishop Murphy 39

MT. VERNON — Burlington-Edison outscored Archbishop Murphy 20-10 in the second quarter and advanced to the state regional tournament with a Class 2A District 1 semifinal win. Ryleigh Swagerty made four 3-pointers and scored 18 points and Mariah Swanson added 10 points for B-E, which advanced to Saturday’s championship game. Archbishop Murphy, which beat B-E by 10 earlier this season, was led by the 11 points of Beth Carlson. The Wildcats play Sehome in a loser-out game at 8 p.m. Thursday at Mount Vernon High School.
