Hunters face a deadline of March 10 for buying and submitting applications for a 2011 spring black bear hunting permit, applicable to specific areas of western and eastern Washington. A drawing will be held at mid-month for 370 permits in western Washington and 209 permits on the eastside.

And remember that current fishing licenses expire at the end of March.
