MARYSVILLE — Lakewood lost primary starting pitcher Kortney Fritz to an injury in the first inning of the first game. Fritz was sent off to be X-rayed after an Anna Whitehouse liner rocketed off her ankle. Whitehouse hit 7-for-9 in two games and drove in four runs in the first game. Murphy’s Gemma Miller doubled and homered in the second game, which was shortened to six innings due to darkness. Allison Rosenbach hit a pair of doubles and drove in two runs in the first game for Lakewood. The Cougars’ Alexa Chase hit 3-for-3 with a double and three RBI in Game 2. Amber Manuel got both pitching victories for Murphy, tossing a pair of complete games.
