Predictions are for more summer chinook returning to the Wenatchee River than needed for escapement, so the river opened Aug. 1 for two fin-clipped kings daily in its lower section. The stretch from the mouth up to Dryden Dam is open Aug. 1 through Oct. 15, and the section from Peshastin Creek to the Icicle Creek road bridge on the west end of Leavenworth is open Sept. 1 through Oct. 15.
