Get resume help at workshops

Sno-Isle Libraries and WorkSource are offering free workshops to help unemployed people with their resumes.

A regular library patron recently told her local librarian that she had received not one, but two job offers after taking the workshop, Sno-Isle spokesman Ken Harvey said.

Job s

eekers in this economy need all the help they can get, Harvey said.

Sno-Isle Libraries and WorkSource have scheduled “Creating a Targeted Resume” workshops to be offered around the county.

The goal of the free workshops is to help job applicants get noticed by application screeners.

By having a resume targeted toward a specific job, people can show off the skills that employers value and increase their chances of getting interviews and ultimately landing the right job, Harvey said.

Sno-Isle Libraries serves 671,000 residents in Snohomish and Island counties.

WorkSource helps people with employment and training services. No fees are charged for any of the services offered.
