The Timberwolves tennis player beat Stanwood No. 1 Gergo Muller 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 in a showdown of two of the top Wesco singles players so far this season and then teamed with David Hong to sweep Snohomish’s Luke and Zach Martinson.

Edmonds-Woodway | Girls swim
The Warriors swimmer broke the school record in the 50 freestyle, winning the event in a state-qualifying time of 25.15.

The Knights forward scored all three goals in a win over Stanwood, scored the team’s only goal in the rain against Arlington and had an assist vs. Marysville Pilchuck to help Kamiak go 3-0 last week.

The Cougars defensive back had an interception and recovered a fumble to stop two Archbishop Murphy drives during Lakewood’s first-ever win over the Wildcats. Stott also had four carries for 38 yards and two catches for 9 yards.

The Wildcats libero had 35 digs and five aces to help Murphy overcome a slow start and beat South Whidbey 3-1 and had 21 digs and three aces in a sweep of Lakewood.

Glacier Peak | Girls cross country
The Grizzlies runner ran a personal record time of 18 minutes, 2 seconds to win the No. 2 runners flight at the Sunfair Invitational in Yakima, placing her on the list of the top 20 times ever run on the course since 1981.

Lake Stevens | Boys cross country
The Vikings harrier finished tied for first with teammate Scott Schmitt in Thursday’s home meet and then was fourth in the Tomahawk Twilight Varsity 4A race on Saturday.
