Locals on the Central Washington University football team

Several local players have played significant roles for the undefeated Central Washington University football team, which hosts Texas A&M-Commerce in the round of 16 of the NCAA Division II Football Championship on Saturday in Ellensburg. Here are the players from Snohomish County high schools who are listed on the Wildcats’ roster, along with what they’ve done this season:

SEAN ELLEDGE

Glacier Peak High School

Senior linebacker

Elledge has appeared in all 11 of Central’s games, recording 55 tackles (25 solo, 30 assists), including 12 for loss, five sacks and one interception. His 55 tackles ranks second on the team and his five sacks ranks fourth. He was named second-team All-GNAC

JUSTIN PETERSON

Lakewood High School

Senior wide receiver

Peterson has appeared in all 11 of Central’s games, catching 29 passes for 520 yards and three touchdowns. His 520 receiving yards is tied for the team lead. He’s also completed one of two passes for 46 yards. He was named honorable mention All-GNAC.

CHRISTIAN GASCA

Lake Stevens High School

Senior wide receiver

Gasca has appeared in all 11 of Central’s games, catching 37 passes for 520 yards and four touchdowns. His 520 receiving yards is tied for the team lead. He also has five carries for 59 yards.

TEVIN GRAY

Lake Stevens High School

Sophomore linebacker

Gray has appeared in all 11 of Central’s games, recording 41 tackles (26 solo, 15 assists), including 5.5 for loss, 3.5 sacks and one interception. His 41 tackles ranks fifth on the team.

KYLE O’DONNELL

Stanwood High School

Senior offensive lineman

O’Donnell started Central’s first seven games before suffering a season-ending knee injury against Western Oregon on Oct. 14.

BRIAN O’DONNELL

Stanwood High School

Senior tight end

O’Donnell suffered a broken leg during training camp that has prevented him from playing this season.

HUNTER ECKSTROM

Lake Stevens High School

Freshman defensive back

Eckstrom is redshirting this season.
