The Herald’s Athlete of the Week nominees for Sept. 17-23. The voting closes Friday. The winner will be announced on next week’s Prep Focus page.

Ashley Anderson | Lynnwood | Volleyball

Anderson, a senior setter/hitter, collected 32 assists, 10 digs, six service aces and two blocks as the Royals swept Marysville Getchell in a Wesco 3A match Thursday.

Hunter Moen | Meadowdale | Football

Moen, a junior, completed 27 of 38 passes for 292 yards, three touchdowns and didn’t throw an interception in the Mavericks’ 41-20 win over Edmonds-Woodway on Friday. Moen also rushed for 40 yards and two scores.

Nadia Prater | Cascade | Girls Swimming

Prater, a senior, won the 200-yard freestyle, 100 freestyle and helped the Bruins’ 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams to first-place finishes in Cascade’s 119-61 win over Mount Vernon on Sept. 18.

Iliana Ramirez | Lakewood | Girls Soccer

Ramirez, a sophomore, had four goals and an assist in the Cougars’ 5-0 victory over Nooksack Valley in a Northwest 2A Conference match Sept. 17.

Tyler Rihn | Monroe | Boys Cross Country

Rihn, a junior, placed first Thursday in a four-team meet at Mariner High School. He covered the 4,000-meter course in 13:22.

Naomi Smith | King’s | Girls Cross Country

Smith, a junior, placed first at the 12th annual King’s Cross Invite in Shoreline on Saturday, covering the three-mile course in 18 minutes, 1 second to help the host Knights win the team championship.

Carlos Villarreal-Elizando | Archbishop Murphy | Boys Tennis

Villarreal-Elizando, a sophomore, rallied from the brink of defeat to score a 1-6, 7-6 (5), 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles as the Wildcats edged Lynnwood 4-3 on Sept. 17.
