Silvertips rally from early deficit to top Winterhawks

EVERETT — The Everett Silvertips scored four unanswered goals and rallied from an early deficit to beat the rival Portland Winterhawks 4-1 on Wednesday at Angel of the Winds Arena.
The Winterhawks opened the scoring when Cross Hanes scored on an assist from Clay Hanus in the first period.
The Silvertips pulled even at 14:40 in the second period when Reece Vitelli scored on Portland goalie Shane Farkas with an assist from Everett native Wyatte Wylie.
Under a minute later, Sean Richards scored to give the Silvertips their first lead at 2-1.
Martin Fasko-Rudas gave Everett some breathing room with a goal at 4:45 in the third period to make the score 3-1, before Connor Dewar added an empty-net goal with time running out.
Dustin Wolf stopped 24 shots for the Silvertips (20-7-1-0). Farkas had 37 saves for the Winterhawks (14-10-0-2).
