Identity released of Everett woman, 28, who drowned in lake

SULTAN — The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the 28-year-old woman who drowned at Cedar Ponds as Molly Acey of Everett.

Officials said the cause of death was drowning and a head injury from the fall. The death was classified as an accident. The sheriff’s office said the woman fell over a waterfall at the ponds shortly before midnight Saturday.

Firefighters and about 35 search-and-rescue volunteers assisted in her recovery on Sunday morning. Her name was released Monday.
