EVERETT — Tri-City’s Reinaldo Ilarraza launched a grand slam in the ninth inning to lift to Dust Devils to a 9-5 win over the Everett AquaSox on Thursday night at Funko Field at Everett Memorial Stadium.
Everett (28-31, 10-11 second half) dropped to two games back behind Tri-City in the Northwest League North second-half standings.
George Kirby, Seattle’s first-round pick in 2019, was tagged with four runs, only one earned, and offered up a two-run homer in the first inning, but retired his next seven batters before exiting.
The AquaSox slashed Tri-City’s lead to 4-2 in the third, then Carter Bins flicked an RBI single to left field to score Izturis Jr. and Robert Perez Jr. in the sixth to knot the score at 4-4.
Ilarraza reached on a fielder’s choice with the bases loaded in the seventh to pull the Dust Devils ahead 5-4, but Everett outfielder Cade Marlowe tied the game again in the eighth with a solo homer to right.
Tom Colletti (3-4) earned the win after allowing a hit over 1.1 scoreless innings.
Brock Minich (0-4), who served up the grand slam, took the loss.
