Silvertips’ Jake Christiansen named WHL player of the week

After an eight-point weekend upon his return from the American Hockey League, Jake Christiansen was named the Western Hockey League’s player of the week.

Christiansen, an overage defenseman, scored three goals and added three assists in his first three games back since being released from his professional tryout with the AHL’s Stockton Heat, an affiliate of the Calgary Flames.

In just three games, Christiansen is already ranked 10th on the team in points scored and is seventh in goals.
