EVERETT — Gage Goncalves’ power-play goal at 15:19 in the third period was the game-winner as the Everett Silvertips’ snapped the Vancouver Giants’ winning streak at 11 games with a 2-1 victory on Saturday at Angel of the Winds Arena.
After Bryce Kindopp drew a tripping penalty on Vancouver’s Eric Florchuk, Goncalves buried the feed from Cole Fonstad for his 29th of the year.
Vancouver’s Milos Roman put the Giants up 1-0 initially with his power-play goal in the first period, but Kindopp netted the equalizer in the second.
The Silvertips travel to Portland, which leads Everett by five points in the U.S. Division standings, on Sunday.
