Five locals named to state basketball all-tournament teams

Five Snohomish County basketball players earned all-tournament honors for their performances at Hardwood Classics last week.

Mountlake Terrace sophomore Zaveon Jones was selected to the Class 3A boys first team after averaging 18 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.8 steals over four games. He led the tournament in total points scored with 72 and helped the ninth-seeded Hawks to a sixth-place trophy.

Snohomish senior Ella Gallatin led a trio of Wesco 3A girls honorees with a first-team nod in the 3A girls tournament. Gallatin posted 17.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per contest over four games as the fifth-seeded Panthers earned a fourth-place trophy. Her 69 total points led the tournament.

Arlington junior Jenna Villa and Stanwood junior Vivienne Berrett each garnered second-team selections in the 3A girls tournament. Villa, whose third-seeded Eagles secured a third-place trophy, averaged 16.3 points, seven rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.7 steals over three games. Berrett, whose seventh-seeded Spartans earned a sixth-place trophy, averaged 11.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.3 blocks over four games.

Archbishop Murphy freshman Ava Marr was named to the 2A girls second team. Marr posted 15.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and one steal per contest over three games while helping the fifth-seeded Wildcats to a fourth-place trophy. Marr shot 58.1% (18 of 31) from the field for the tournament.
