Paine Field’s name change shows lack of local pride

I am proud to be born and raised in Everett. I attend AquaSox games, and am a loyal Silvertips fan. It’s a city that has revitalized its downtown. A city with the best public boat launch on Puget Sound. The city I drive to when I go shopping, so that it gets my sales tax dollars instead of Lynnwood or Mukilteo.

Evidently the Snohomish County Council is not proud of its county seat. The city that built and modernized the county and built the best commercial jet airliners in the world. Home port of U.S. Navy ships vital to our Pacific Fleet.

Many of your subscribers realize that some Snohomish County businesses use “Seattle” in their name simply so that they can charge more for their services. I like Paine Field (PAE) and use it whenever possible, and recommend it to friends and family flying in or out.

I am glad to have cast my vote for a new county council woman who hopefully will survive the extremely crooked and unbalanced Top 2 primary system that we now must endure. Hopefully she is brave enough to challenge the sellouts, and change the name back to Paine Field, or the Snohomish County International Airport. Or Everett International Airport. Or Paine Airport Everett.

Forget King County and Seattle. They give the Great Northwest area a bad name in the national press.

Thank-you Herald, for providing interesting and valuable local news! No thanks for the Washington Post stories, left-wing slanted attitude, and day old Mariners reports.
