EVERETT — Snohomish County drivers should expect overnight lane reductions in both directions of I-5 this week in preparation for bridge painting.

Beginning 9 p.m. Monday, travelers headed north on I-5 can expect lane reductions from milepost 194 to the north side of the Snohomish River Bridge near milepost 195. The nightly work is scheduled 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Friday.

Drivers headed south on I-5 should prepare for a nightly lane reduction from north of the bridge near milepost 195 to Marine View Drive. Work affecting southbound traffic is scheduled 7:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. Monday through Friday.

This work will allow crews to install platforms needed for the I-5 Snohomish River Bridge painting project. The bridges were last cleaned and painted in 1978.
