Former AquaSox catcher Harry Ford is headed to The Show.

Seattle Mariners general manager Justin Hollander announced that Ford, who played the AquaSox in 2023, has been called up from Triple-A Tacoma to join the major league club as rosters expanded to 28 players on Sept. 1. Right-handed pitcher Luke Jackson and infielder Leo Rivas have also been called up from Tacoma.

Pitcher Sauryn Lao was designated for assignment, and infielder Donovan Solano was released from the roster.

The Mariners 40-man roster remains full at 40 players and Seattle’s 28-man active roster is now at 27 players. Victor Robles, who is serving a seven-game suspension for a bat-throwing incident while with Tacoma, would be the 28th player.

Ford, 22, will make his Major League debut when he first appears in a game. In 97 games with Triple-A Tacoma this season, the top prospect is batting .283 with 68 runs, 18 doubles, 16 home runs, 74 RBI, 74 walks and seven stolen bases, getting on base at a .408 clip, slugging .460 with an .868 OPS.

With Ford added to the roster, Seattle has its first-round draft selection from five consecutive drafts on the active roster, including Logan Gilbert (2018), George Kirby (2019), Emerson Hancock (2020), Harry Ford (2021) and Cole Young (2022).

Ford is a consensus top-100 prospect in baseball, appearing in top 100 lists published by MLB Pipeline (No. 40), Baseball America (No. 76), FanGraphs (No. 67), ESPN (No. 65) and The Athletic (No. 79). Ford has appeared in each of the last three MLB Futures during All-Star Week.

He was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 1st round (12th overall) of the 2021 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of North Cobb High School (Georgia). He has appeared in five minor league seasons (2021-c), all in the Mariners organization, batting .266 with 330 runs, 98 doubles, 10 triples, 52 homers, 261 RBI, 92 stolen bases and 348 walks, posting a .405 on-base percentage, slugging .428 with an .832 OPS.

Jackson, 34, signed a minor league contract with the Mariners on Aug. 21 after spending time in the Texas Rangers and Detroit Tigers organizations earlier this season. Jackson has appeared in three games with Triple-A Tacoma since joining the Mariners organization, posting a 7.71 ERA during 2 1/3 innings with four strikeouts and no walks.

Jackson has appeared in 10 Major League seasons with Texas (2015-16, ’25), Atlanta (2017-21, ’24), San Francisco (2023-24) and Detroit (2025). In 380 relief appearances, the right-hander is 24-16 with 28 saves and a 4.27 ERA with 414 strikeouts and 183 walks.

Jackson recorded a career-high 18 saves for the 2019 Braves, and was a key piece on the 2021 World Series Champion Atlanta team, making 11 Postseason appearances during their run.

Rivas, 27, returns to the big leagues after appearing in 30 games with the Mariners earlier this season. With Seattle this year, Rivas reached base at a .411 clip in 73 plate appearances, batting .283 with four stolen bases. In 66 games with Triple-A Tacoma, Rivas is batting .318 with 63 runs, 8 doubles, two triples, 10 homers, 46 RBI, 24 stolen bases and 62 walks, compared to just 59 strikeouts, posting a .978 OPS.

The Maracay, Venezuela native has appeared in parts of 10 minor league seasons in the Angels, Reds and Mariners systems. He has also appeared in parts of two Major League seasons with Seattle, batting .256 with 24 runs, two doubles, one triple, 12 RBI, seven stolen bases and a .655 OPS in 73 games.
