LAKE GOODWIN — A challenge to the development of homes near Lake Goodwin area has been continued until June 2 at 10:30 a.m.
The Snohomish County Council heard Wednesday from an attorney for the 7-Lakes Group and Stanwood resident Tom Barry, who are appealing a county hearing examiner’s approval of a 49-lot subdivision. The subdivision is one of nine adjacent developments with a combined 600 homes proposed by Lake Goodwin a Joint Venture LLC, a partnership between the McNaughton Group of Edmonds and Granite Land Co. of California.
The appeal contends a single dead-end road provides inadequate access to the subdivision. It also questions allowed building densities and the safety of a nearby intersection. Councilmen asked to postpone the proceedings after seeking legal advice.
The developer failed to convince the council to dismiss the appeal in late April.
