Cowlitz steelhead and Skagit waterfowl

Latest steelhead checks on the Cowlitz showed 38 bank anglers with 12 fish, and 27 boaters, also with 12 fish. All steelhead came from the trout and salmon hatchery areas.
Good duck hunting was the rule over the weekend on the Skagit, as windy weather combined with more birds being pushed down from the Fraser delta. The last waterfowl survey flight counted 320,000 ducks in northwest Washington, better than last year at the same time.
