Nicolas Cage is a 14th Century Crusader who returns to his homeland to become embroiled in a crusade of another kind. He must transport a ‘‘witch,’’ believed to be the source of the Black Plague, to a distant abbey. Swordfights, chainmail, lurking evil. PG-13.
