EVERETT — The Everett Fire Department announced Wednesday that Seth Albright has been promoted to assistant chief of operations. He stepped into the role of assistant chief on Dec. 28.
Initially, Albright performed the role on an interim basis following the retirement of Assistant Chief Mike Calvert in the summer, according to a city press release.
“Seth has demonstrated strong leadership, dedication, and a deep commitment to both the department and the people we serve,” said Everett Fire Chief Dave DeMarco in the release. “He has earned the admiration and respect of his peers, and I have no doubt he will continue to advance our agency’s vision as a leader in the fire service.”
Albright joined the department in 2006 and has served as the truck committee chairman and on the rescue tech and marine teams since then, the release said. In 2015, he was promoted to driver and then to captain three years later.
Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin said in the release that Albright’s promotion reflects his commitment to Everett’s firefighters and community.
“Seth Albright has shown extraordinary leadership throughout his time with the Everett Fire Department,” she said.
Before his time at the department, he graduated from Hudson’s Bay High School in Vancouver, Washington, and earned an Earth science degree with a teaching certificate from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, the release said.
