Ribbon cutting
The city of Stanwood and the Stanwood Chamber of Commerce are hosting a ribbon cutting for a new platform at Schuh Farm Park at 4 p.m. Friday.
The platform, between Twin City Foods and Schuh Farm Produce on Highway 532, was built by 15-year-old Taylor Stach as an Eagle Scout project.
The ribbon-cutting is open to the public and refreshments will be served.
Meet with the superintendent: Edmonds School District Superintendent Nick Brossoit will hold evening meetings to visit with parents and the public.
Meetings are set for 7 p.m. on Oct. 29 at Meadowdale High School (6002 168th St. SW in Lynnwood), Nov. 5 at Lynnwood High School (18218 North Road in Bothell), Nov. 12 at Mountlake Terrace High School (21801 44th Ave. W.) and Nov. 17 at Edmonds-Woodway High School (7600 212th St. SW in Edmonds).
Fire budget meeting: Snohomish County Fire District 3 in Monroe plans a public hearing at 7 p.m. Monday to go over the proposed 2015 budget.
People will be allowed to ask questions and offer input. The meeting will be held at district headquarters, 163 Village Court, Monroe.
