LYNNWOOD — A Seattle man has been accused of being a pimp for a prostitute who used the Web site Craigslist to solicit clients.
Prosecutors on Wednesday charged Charles Deville Nash with second-degree promotion of prostitution. Nash, 26, was arrested in August in the parking lot of the Marriott Hotel in Lynnwood.
Police had set up a sting operation to crack down on a prostitution ring that was advertising on Craigslist, Snohomish County deputy prosecutor Halley Hupp wrote in charging papers.
Police allegedly saw Nash drop the woman off at the hotel after an undercover officer arranged to meet the call girl there for sex. The woman was arrested for prostitution and pleaded guilty to the charge in January, Hupp wrote. The woman was identified only by her initials in the papers filed Wednesday in Snohomish County Superior Court.
A couple hours after Nash drove the woman to the motel, he returned and called into the room, according to court documents. Police arrested Nash as he was walking toward the room.
He initially gave police a fake name. He later revealed his real name, saying he was concerned about being charged with promoting prostitution, Hupp wrote.
Officers seized his computer to determine if it was used to post advertisements for prostitution on Craigslist.
Nash has numerous felony convictions out of Oregon.
