Honor our veterans on July 4 with some quiet, rather than fireworks

As we all know the Fourth of July is here. I know many want to go out and celebrate by setting off their own fireworks. I am asking you to really think about this before doing that.

I am hoping that you will decide to not set them off in honor of our veterans. At a high cost, they have given so much of themselves in order for us to continue to be able to celebrate this holiday and our precious freedom Many of our veterans come home suffering from PTSD. Loud noises can trigger this and can make the veteran feel and think they are right back in the war zones they were sent to.

I am asking you to please give them the gift of peace and quiet this Fourth of July to let them know we appreciate all the sacrifices they have made for all of us. Please give them a day to celebrate too. There are many commercial places to go to watch fireworks displays so you can still celebrate. Just, please, don’t set off your own at home or anywhere else.

Not only do the loud noise affect many of our veterans, but all the animals are affected too, both domestic and wild. Thank you for reconsidering setting off fireworks. God Bless America and all our veterans, past and present, that have maintained our freedom!
