Questioning my decision to renew Herald subscription
Published 1:30 am Wednesday, January 18, 2023
I re-upped my Herald subscription for another year with mixed feelings. Today, my paper for Friday arrived on Saturday, a day late and a dollar short of news. To say the least, the TV sports schedules were of no use to me. Along with it was a second paper labeled “Weekend Edition.”
It has all the earmarks of the Sunday paper one day in advance. So now, my traditions are gone. No more Sunday paper Sunday morning and no Saturday paper on Saturday. You made these changes without soliciting my approval or suggestions. I just received a third billing notice, which I paid a month ago and several days ago I had a call from your marketing department addressing the payment due. This does not forebode well. If your performance continues to deteriorate, I will ask for my money back. Sadly, I saw no community news from Camano Island, Stanwood, Warm Beach or Smokey Point. The best part of the paper was the commentary by Sid Schwab, by far more outstanding than the stuff you pay to print.
