Thinking things through is virtue

I was disheartened by the Associated Press article, “Inslee still vague on major issues.” The writer reported on a growing belief in this country that quick, concise answers whenever asked are always correct and of value. It is easy to give an answer but not easy to have a correct answer.

I want to remind readers of this paper that Republicans are largely run by the Tea Party, which wants to gut social programs, further reduce taxes for the wealthy, loves trickle-down economics, and is fueling the War Against Women (against birth control, against women’s right to choose, etc.) In Tuesday’s paper Republicans blocked a bill nationally for equal pay for women.

I could go on, but my point is that not having quick, concise answers two months before the primary and five months before election day is not a problem, but shows complex issues require thought.

Don’t mistaken Republican rhetoric for answers now that are the best long-term solutions for Washington, as those answers could shift in reality, and Washington is too good a state to bend to the Tea Party. Please remember Jay Inslee supports social programs, women’s rights, teachers, unions, all things that will continue Washington in the correct direction.

I am sure Jay Inslee will have the best answers for our state. They will come after careful thought.
