EVERETT — Hogan Windish hit his Northwest League-leading 22nd home run and the Everett AquaSox beat the Eugene Emeralds 8-1 on Thursday night for their fourth straight win.
With the win and a Vancouver loss, Everett took a two-game lead over the Canadians with three games to play in the race for the second-half title. Both teams have already clinched a playoff berth.
Windish finished with three RBI and was one of four AquaSox with two hits. Harry Ford, Gabriel Gonzalez and Josh Hood each had two, and Bill Knight hit his third home run of the season.
In his first start off the injured list for Everett (73-56, 39-24), Jimmy Kingsbury allowed no hits in four innings while striking out six. Matt Willrodt and Bernie Martinez each struck out three batters in two innings of relief.
Grant McCray homered, one of just four hits for Eugene (64-65, 30-33).
