Jackson’s Brown headed to Toledo
Published 5:46 pm Thursday, November 3, 2011
I received an e-mail from Mackenzie Brown’s mother, Veronica Brown, announcing that Mackenzie is has verbally committed to play tennis at the University of Toledo next year. Brown didn’t play for the Jackson tennis team last season because of scheduling conflicts and injuries.
Here’s the e-mail:
We are happy to announce Jackson High School senior Mackenzie Bowman verbally committed to accept a scholarship and play tennis for the University of Toledo Wednesday, November 1, 2011.
Originally from Anacortes, Washington but moved to Mill Creek five years ago when her father CDR Bowman accepted a job as Air Boss on the aircraft carrier Lincoln in Everett. Mackenzie continued to pursue her tennis goals and currently trains at Central Park Tennis Club in Kirkland.
2011 recipient of the USTA PNW Scott Eden Sportsmanship annual award and nominated for the International Tennis Hall of Fame Bill Talbert Junior Sportsmanship award.
Thank you,
Veronica Bowman
