TUKWILA — Ben Dragavon is a Sounder once again.
Dragavon, a Monroe High School graduate who started the season with Seattle, will make the trip to Dallas as the team’s backup goalkeeper for Saturday’s game against FC Dallas because of a knee injury to Chris Eylander.
Dragavon has been training with the team since January, but is a member of Major League Soccer’s pool of emergency goalkeepers. He was on the game-day roster early in the season for Seattle while Eylander recovered from a knee injury, and played 61 minutes in a loss to Kansas City after the starting goalkeeper, Kasey Keller, was sent off with a red card.
Eylander returned from his injury a week later, but Dragavon stayed with the team as a backup while Keller served a one-game suspension.
More recently, however, Dragavon has been with the Columbus Crew as that team’s backup. He was in uniform for games on April 25 and May 2, but did not play.
