Jackson wins district swimming and diving championship

Glacier Peak and Jackson each send eight competitors to state.

SNOHOMISH — Jackson swimmers Julia Song and Olivia Hoyla each won two events with automatic state-qualifying times and participated in two winning relays — also with automatic state-qualifying times — as the Timberwolves swam away with the 4A District 1 title on Saturday. Hanna Fritts, one of eight Jackson swimmers to advance to state, also posted two individual qualifying times and participated on two winning relays.

Glacier Peak finished second behind Alena Lehmann and Keelie Sullivan each posting a pair of state qualifying times. Divers Addison Farman and Claire Butler also tallied state-qualifying marks. All of Saturday’s event winners, those who met the state standard times and additional competitors who qualified as wildcard entries will participate in the Class 4A state meet, Thursday-Saturday at the King County Aquatic Center.
