The Heralds staff breaks down the big matchups set for Friday night.

With a handful of local teams getting ready for their final regular-season games, Herald writers Cameron Van Til, Zac Hereth and Josh Horton preview all the big matchups for Week 8 of the prep football season.

A de facto conference-title game between Arlington and Marysville Pilchuck highlights Friday night.

In Wesco 3A South, Meadowdale and Snohomish meet in a tilt with plenty of league-title implications, and Shorecrest and Lynnwood battle for a playoff spot.

Other big games in Week 8 include Glacier Peak’s battle with Monroe that will be televised on ROOT Sports, a Wesco 4A showdown between Mariner and Cascade, Archbishop Murphy’s clash with Sedro-Woolley and a North Sound Conference matchup between Grantie Falls and South Whidbey.
