Treat dogs with respect
Sorry we missed National Dog Bite Prevention Week last week, but the message is still the same.
Last year, more than 2.8 million children and 3,400 letter carriers were bitten by dogs.
When approaching a dog, here are some tips:
* Wait and watch the dog’s body language.
* Ask the owner for permission to pet the animal.
* Let the dog sniff you.
* Pet the dog in the direction of its fur.
Holiday closes licensing offices
The state Department of Licensing reminds folks that all vehicle licensing offices will be closed on Monday for Memorial Day.
All driver’s licensing offices will be closed Saturday through Monday.
PUD meeting rooms available
Snohomish County PUD offers a variety of meeting spaces to the public. Special rates are available for qualifying nonprofit organizations.
At the utility’s Everett office, customers may choose from seven conference rooms and a multimedia auditorium that seats 300 people. The PUD’s Everett office also offers videoconferencing.
Other meeting rooms can be booked at local PUD offices in Monroe, Snohomish, South Snohomish County and Stanwood.
For more information, call the training and technology center at 425-783-8204.
Correction
The Sport Facilities Marketing Group oversees the sale of luxury suites, club seats and the Everett Events Center’s naming rights. The company is not affiliated with the events center operator, Global Spectrum. The relationship was misstated in a story on Page A1 Sunday on events center finances.
