Arlington: Author to discuss writing
Author David Patneaude is scheduled to talk with kids about the writing process at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Arlington Library.
He has written nine children’s books, including “Haunting at Home Plate” and “Last Man’s Reward.”

Camano Island: Transit center opens
Island Transit is opening a new Camano Island Operations Base Facility at 174 Can Ku Road.
A grand opening celebration is scheduled for 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Marysville: History for sale for holidays
The Marysville Historical Society has a book, a DVD and a calendar for sale for the holidays.
The 104-page book, “Voices of the Past,” includes diary writings of pioneers and historical photos. It sells for $20.
The DVD, “The Place Where it All Began,” is an hourlong documentary of Marysville’s history, featuring photos from several local historical collections. It also costs $20.
The 2008 calendar features a historical photo of a pioneer family each month. The calendar sells for $10.
Proceeds go to benefit the Marysville Historical Society, which is building a new museum.
