University of Washington guard Isaiah Thomas was named the Pac-10 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday, the second time in as many weeks a Husky has been honored.
Senior post Matthew Bryan-Amaning earned the award last week. It’s the first time two different Huskies have won the award in back-to-back weeks since the conference first started naming a player of the week in the 1983-84 season.
Thomas, a junior from Tacoma, averaged 19.5 points, 8.5 assists and shot 46.2 percent from 3-point range as Washington swept Oregon and Oregon State in Seattle to move to 4-0 in Pac-10 play. He had 17 assists and just four turnovers to lead Washington to its best start in conference play since 1984.
