E-W’s Griffing takes fourth at divisional cross country meet

Edmonds-Woodway junior Jack Griffing took fourth place at the Western Conference Division cross country meet Oct. 22 at Lakewood High School.

Griffing finished the 5k course in 16 minutes, 33.41 seconds.

In the girls race, Edmonds-Woodway’s Megan Alfi took 12th (20:24.72).

In the Wesco 3A girls race, Meadowdale’s Haley Suarez took fifth place (19:39.26). Mountlake Terrace’s Nina Penner was 19th (21:04.47).

Mountlake Terrace’s Jack Pearce took third in the boys race with a time of 16:47.27. Meadowdale’s Dominic Giordano was 11th (17:17.77) and Mountlake Terrace’s Yohans Tewolde was 16th (17:41.18).

Meadowdale’s Quinn Massy placed 25th (18:06.80) and Lynnwood’s Alex Ashenbrener was 28th (18:09.39).
