National Night Out
It is “National Night Out” Tuesday for many cities across Snohomish County. It is part of a national campaign to bring communities and law enforcement together to help make neighborhoods safer. For a reminder about activities in your area, go to http://tinyurl.com/hczgqqx.
One city not included when the list was first published is Monroe. Its event is from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and includes free food, giveaways, activities, informational booths and events.
Granite Falls Show’n’Shine: The 36th annual Show’n’Shine classic car show in Granite Falls is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Registration for vehicles begins at 6:30 a.m. and costs $25 per vehicle. The event is free for spectators.
The cars are expected to be on display in downtown Granite Falls on Stanley Street and Granite Avenue. Prizes are to be awarded in various categories. For more information, go to granitefallswa.com or email shownshine@granitefallswa.com.
Get Ready: “Ready for Kindergarten” is a program scheduled from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays at the Mukilteo Library, 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd. Children will gain basic knowledge and skills, such as identifying shapes and letters, counting to 100, using scissors, and taking turns. Instruction is provided for parents to guide their child. Group activities will focus on literacy, music and movement. Children will learn self-control in a structured environment. Parents will gain a clearer understanding of kindergarten curriculum, teacher expectations, and how they can support their child’s learning outside the classroom.
