MILL CREEK — In a battle of two of the top teams in Wesco so far this shortened season, the Jackson girls soccer team and Lake Stevens played to a 0-0 draw on Thursday night.

The perennial powerhouse Timberwolves fell one win short of the 4A state tournament last season, ending a string of six consecutive state appearances.

The Vikings are coming off a second-place finish in Wesco 4A and their fourth Class 4A state playoff appearance in five years.

Jackson remained unbeaten on the season with a 4-0-2 record in the first campaign under new coach Terry Ryan. Lake Stevens is now 4-1-1.
