LAKE STEVENS — In a battle of undefeated teams on Thursday night, Lake Stevens proved it’s the premier volleyball team in Wesco again this season.
The Vikings swept previously unbeaten Snohomish by scores of 25-20, 25-22 and 25-20 to improve to 8-0 on the season.
Senior Tatum Smith provided Lake Stevens with 12 kills, eight digs and three aces, and senior Piper Smith posted 19 digs and two aces.
The Vikings have dropped only one set all year, to Jackson on March 19.
Snohomish had also lost only one set all season coming into the game. The Panthers (7-1) were highly competitive in every set Thursday, but weren’t able to get the key points to earn a win.
Senior Mac Whyte led Snohomish with 13 digs and 11 kills.
Lake Stevens finished second at the Class 4A state tournament last season and has a chance to secure a perfect 9-0 season when it clashes with defending Wesco 3A/2A champion Arlington on Monday.
