Artists will learn from other successful artists how to make a living with their creations at the 2006 Bizart Conference on Friday and Saturday at Everett Station, 3201 Smith Ave., Everett.
The conference, hosted by Everett and Edmonds community colleges, is one of three nationwide. It’s for musicians, dancers, designers, photographers, actors, sculptors and painters.
The conference offers sessions led by artists, workshops, and information about marketing, financing and business operations. Organizations will be on hand with information about small-business resources. This year’s keynote speaker is Tom Wilson, creator of the internationally syndicated cartoon Ziggy.

Everett parks guide available
The Everett Parks and Recreation Department’s spring guide to classes and programs is now available.
You can pick up a guide at the Forest Park recreation office, 802 E. Mukilteo Blvd.; at either branch of the Everett Public Library; or by calling the parks department at 425-257-8300.
Senior center plans open house today
The East County Senior Center hosts its annual open house from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. today at 824 Village Way in Monroe.
The center will provide information on classes, groups, clubs and activities. You can listen to some harp music and have dessert with the center’s members.
Auditor tabbed for town hall talk
Island County Commissioner Bill Byrd has invited county Auditor Suzanne Sinclair to be the guest speaker at his town hall meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Camano Center, 141 N. East Camano Drive.
Sinclair will discuss the county’s new voting machines and voter tabulation system. She also will answer questions about other roles her department fulfills.
