Anacortes

Island Outfitters: 2403 Commercial Ave., 360-299-2300, 866-445-7506, www.seakayakshop.com. Single and tandem sea kayaks. Prices range from half-days at $30 for single and $45 tandem to $80 and $110 for two days. Must have successfully completed a sea kayak class that included self-rescues. Reservations recommended. Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Cascade Crags: 2820 Rucker Ave., 425-258-3431, www.cascade-crags.com. Single and tandem sea kayaks. Prices start at $30 for a single kayak day rental and $55 for a double on a weekday. Rentals cost more on weekends: $40 for a single and $65 for a double. Reservations recommended. Hours: 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Popeye’s Marine and Kayak Center: 814 13th St., 425-339-9479, www.popeyesmarine.com. Single and tandem sea kayaks and canoes. Dock available nearby to launch. Single kayaks start at $30 half day, $40 full day. Tandems start at $60 a day (not available half days). Saturdays cost more: $60 for a single and $75 for tandems. Two-person canoes cost $45 a day and $60 on Saturday. Reservations recommended. Rentals available on holidays by request. Weekend rentals must be picked up Friday between 3 and 6 p.m. and returned by noon on Monday. Hours: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

Olympic Raft and Kayak: 123 Lake Aldwell Road, 360-452-1443, 888-452-1443. Touring and recreational kayaks, both single and tandem. Hourly and daily rentals. Most customers rent recreational kayaks for use on nearby Lake Aldwell. Free boat delivery to the lake. Delivery arranged for other locations for a fee. Hourly rates start at $18 for a single kayak and $22 for a tandem. Full day prices start at $50 for a single. Reservations recommended. Some experience needed to rent closed cockpit sea kayaks. Hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Single kayaks: $18 hour, $25 two hours, $5 for each additional hour. Double kayaks: $27 hour, $37 two hours, $5 each additional hour. Triple kayaks: $32 hour, $42 two hours, $10 each additional hour. Day rentals available. Rowing wherries (fit three adults): $25 hour, $35 two hours and $5 each additional hour. Reservations recommended. Some experience required for kayak rental. Hours: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Rates begin at $13 an hour for a single and $18 for a tandem kayak or trimaran sailboat. A full day costs $50 for a single kayak and $70 for a tandem. Taking kayaks offsite costs more: $55 a day for a single and $75 for a tandem. Sailing experience is required to rent a trimaran sailboat. The sailboats fit one adult and two children. Reservations recommended for weekends. Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Aqua Sports Paddle Center: 7907 159th Place NE, 425-869-7067, www.aqua-sports.com. Recreational, touring and whitewater kayaks and canoes. Daily and hourly rentals available for sea kayaks. Whitewater kayaks available for daily rentals only. Prices start at two hours for $25 and $35 for single and tandem rentals, respectively. Canoes start at $40 for two hours. Reservations required. Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Agua Verde Paddle Club: 1303 NW Boat St., 206-545-8570, www.aguaverde.com. Mostly first-come, first-served. One reservation accepted per day, with deposit, for groups of six or more. Single, double and triple kayaks. Singles cost $15 per hour, doubles $18, triples $20. Hours: 10 a.m. to sunset daily.

Alki Crab and Fish Co. at Seacrest Marina: 1660 Harbor Ave. SW, 206-938-0975. Single and double kayaks, and 18-foot Lund boats. Kayaks cost $10 per hour, motor boats cost $60 per hour with minimum two-hour rental. Reservations recommended. Hours: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Center for Wooden Boats: 1010 Valley St., 206-382-2628; www.cwb.org. Sailboats and rowboats. Canoes and kayaks available in midsummer. No reservations accepted, rentals are first-come, first-served only. Rowboats, sloops, catboats and electric boats. Cost is $12.50 to $46 per hour – call for details. $10 checkout fee and skill evaluation test for sailboats. Hours: Noon to 8 p.m. daily, through Sept. 5.

The Electric Boat Co.: 1001 Fairview Ave. N., Suite 1300, 206-223-7476, www.theelectricboatco.com. Rents 21-foot Duffy boats that hold up to 12 people. Cost is $75 per hour with minimum two-hour rental. Reservations recommended. Hours: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Green Lake Boat Rental: 7351 E. Green Lake Drive N., 206-527-0171. Rents paddle boats, rowboats, canoes, kayaks and sailboards. Most boats cost $12 per hour, call for sailboat cost. No reservations, first-come, first-served only. Hours: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, but open longer on nice days – call ahead.

Moss Bay Rowing, Kayaking and Sailing Center: 1001 Fairview Ave. N., Suite 1900, 206-682-2031, www.mossbay.net. Reservations accepted for groups of six or more, smaller groups first-come, first-served only. Single and double kayaks, rowing shells and Hobie and Catalina sailboats. Costs are $12 to $35 per hour, with a one-time $10 skill assessment test for rowing shells and sailboats. Takeaway rentals also available – call for rates. Hours: 8 a.m. to dusk.

Hourly cost is $4 for UW students, $5.50 for UW faculty and staff, $7 for UW alumni, $7.50 for general public. No reservations, first-come, first-served only. Hours: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekends and holidays, through Aug. 31.
